Creative Exam System

Education is the backbone of a nation. In fact no nation can prosper and even survive without the power of systematic education. A standard and systematic method of education particularly in the field of academic education is a must for nation. In the light of this oracular truth, it is apparent to all that it is also very important for nation or state to introduce such a system of examination is the academic institution which can best reflect the inner talent to the examinees. This is the recent most system of judging the merit of students. After a longtime research and experiment by the renowned educationalist of our country this system has been invented and after much confusion and controversy this system has been officially introduced at last. The main aim or objective of this system is to make the students cope with the international level of education. The questions given in the exam under this system have four specific layers namely knowledge, realization, application and higher skill. Trough these, the examiner can easily assess the real merit level of the students. And from the student’s point of view, they have to be more attentive to enhancing their own creativity rather than to memorizing their answer scripts like parrot. In a word, to be successful in exams through this method one must be basically creative and innovative. And if the students are taught and nursed well in the light at this system, they will be successful not only in their exams but also in their future life and career as well.

Drug Addiction

Drug addiction has now become a serious problem of our society, especially in the town areas. Many young man and women are falling victims to this. It is a curse not only for themselves but also for the full nation which runs them completely. Taking drugs frequently one becomes addicted. So he get accustomed to going with it. There are some effective reasons for drug addiction such as- frustration, bad association, availability of intoxicant, unemployment, failure in love, degradation of religious values, lack of family peace etc. Drugs are expensive. So to manage money the addicts often go for stealing, hijacking, killing and all sorts of misdeeds. Drugs are smuggled into the country. The smugglers carry on drug business freely. As a result, this curse has become widest spread all over the world. This kills drug addicted person slowly but surely. But we cannot allow this to go on unchecked. We must fight against these social cancers. The first thing to do is to highlight its dangerous effect to the people and make them aware of this deadly enemy of social life. The mass media can play an effective role in this respect. Seminars and discussion and debate should be held in schools and colleges and universities. The government alone cannot solve this problem single handed. People must cooperate with it. Otherwise, there will not be any desired result. We should remember the advice, “Prevention is better than cure”.

Computer

Computer is wonderful scientific invention. Charles Babez offered a primary concept of computer. On the basis of his concept the first automatic electronic computer was invented in 1946. And so he is called the father of computer. It is such an electronic machine which gives decision very swiftly by receiving masses of data and analyzing them automatically. In accordance with the act and activities computer can be divided into three classes. They are analogue, digital and hybrid computer. According to form and formation computer can be classified into four classes. They are Super Computer, Mainframe computer, Mini computer and Micro computer. Micro computer is also called PC (Personal Computer). Computer has some specific parts. These are Input device, CPU (central processing unit) and Output device. However, computer is of great use to us. It is used in measuring daily routine work, trade and commerce, diagnosing diseases, entertainment, games and sports, transport, educational sector, researching space and what not. It has done great wonders in inventing e-mail, internet and robot. Besides, its utility in controlling population, preparing budget, analyzing natural calamity is very great. But computer is not of unmixed blessing. For its wide use unemployment problem is getting severe. It also causes various diseases to the users. Its ray is very harmful to them. By using computer, the users may loose eye-sight. Nevertheless, present lives cannot be led without computer. Truly speaking, modern civilization is dependent on computer to a great extent.

The Journey By Plane I Underwent

Recently, I underwent a journey by plane from Dhaka to Chittagong. It was my first journey by plane. Having summer vacation I got an opportunity to meet my elder brother living in Chittagong. He sent me an air ticket. However, on the scheduled day I went to the airport an hour earlier and after all the formalities being completed I was given a boarding card. Then I got into the plane. The captain announced that he would soon be starting. I felt my tension rising. After a pause, the plane started taxiing. Then slowly it began to race down the runway and after a while with a jerk, it took off. I looked down from my window and saw buildings, people and trees looking like miniatures. The roads and streets seemed to be snake. The rivers, canals also seemed to be so. I saw the soft white clouds floating by. They looked like huge cotton balls. I felt like touching the clouds. They seemed to fly along with our plane. However, within the very shortest time I along with other passengers reached our destination safe and sound. The experience I gathered by undergoing the journey is memorable.

A Recent Visit To Flood-Affected Area

Flood is a natural calamity that occurs in our country almost every year and it affects her violently. However, I visited a flood-affected area. The name of this area is Char Vadrasan. It is under the district of Faridpur. About 30,000 people live here. This year flood affected this area tremendously. Most of the people lost their houses, some died and some were injured. People were living under open sky. Some had taken shelter in schools and colleges. They suffered in want of food, cloths, medicine and so on. They also suffered from diarrhea, dysentery and cholera. Some of them were about to die for want of medical care and treatment. Something should be done for removing their distress as early as possible. The govt. and people of every walk of life should come forward to extend their helping hands.

Acid Throwing

Acid throwing is a heinous crime that degrades humanity to animality. Those who are involved in throwing acid on the face of others are the worst criminals. They must be ousted from the society. They must be awarded capital punishment. Some people through acid for various reasons. Someone throws acid being refused by a girl in love proposal. Someone throws acid because of personal enmity. Someone throws acid being jealous as well. But this crime is generally committed by the unsuccessful lovers. Acid throwing results in grave consequence. The unfortunate victims most often meet premature death. The victims become deformed or ugly. By enacting law and order and raising public awareness, acid throwing can be prevented. Exemplary punishments and penalty should be given to the criminals. Then the world will be a suitable place of habitation. If not, the world will be dominated by the acid throwers.

The Curse Of Dowry

Dowry is a heinous marital system in our society where parents of bride have to give certain money or property to bridegroom for yielding their bride. The man reason of dowry is our social unconsciousness. Bridegroom and concerned parents take dowry and the parents of the brides are the victims of dowry. The poor parents are not able to fulfill the demands of the concerned bridegroom and finally suffer a lot. The system has actually led us to degenerated and sick society and thrown away our all humane characteristics and moral dignities. Moreover, since most of our parents are poor, major people of our society suffer through a cyclical process. As a conscious person of the society, I vehemently protest against this social vice.  The government as well as whole people of our society should take pragmatic steps against this social frailty. First of all, we have to make our whole population conscious of this social curse.

Adopting Unfairness In The Examination

Unfairness in the examination indicates a means or method which is very indecent. It is very common nowadays. As a consciousness student I do not support unfairness in the examination. I am against it because this practice spoils a student’s future. For many reasons the students adopt unfair means in the examinations. Lessons are not imparted to students according to aptitude. The number of teachers is not enough to teach a large number of students. Some students are engaged in politics and pass away their time in many ways. When the examination comes, they adopt unfairness in order to pass the examination. The Education Ministry of the Govt. of Bangladesh has taken a very strict initiative to prevent this suicidal practice. Strict checking and monitoring are taken in this regards. The good effect of the preventive measures is that the students now try to study regularly in order to pass the exam.. Gradually they are becoming the productive portion of the country.

My Observance of Eid-UL-Fitr

This year I celebrated the Eidul Fitr with my heart’s content. Particularly I was longing for this day to celebrate with my friends and family. On this day I found my mother cooking delicious dishes to entertain us and my sister was busy in decorating the house with new bed sheets, curtains, etc. In the morning of the Eid day first I had my bath, wore new Punjabi and went to the Eidgah for prayer. When I went to the Eidgah, I found a lot of people coming to say their prayer. For this occasion a nice fest was arranged at our home. Different kinds of semai, firni, polao and biryani were made in this regard. I spent the afternoon with my friends by visiting different attractive places. However, I passed the whole day with joyful mood.

Visiting A Zoo

On last Monday I paid visit of the National Zoo at Mirpur. It is located at the northern part of the city. The area of the zoo is very big. It’s a happy abode of numerous known and unknown birds, reptiles, etc. To observe the beauties of these animals at first I went to the shed in which the monkeys were kept. They were jumping from one bar to another. Their performance pleased me much. Our attention was next drawn to the cage in which there were two big pythons. The sight of pythons made my blood creep. Then I turned my eyes from them at the cage of tigers. Their majestic roaming threatened me much. Then I went to the cage of birds. There I saw many kinds of bird including tailor birds, singing birds, game birds, teasing birds, etc. Among the animals and birds the beauty of spotted deer was the main attraction. People there were enjoying the beauty of spotted deer. I stayed there for about 3 hours and during the visit my heart was filled with joy.

My Kitchen Garden

A kitchen garden generally means a garden where vegetables and some times fruits are grown. I have kitchen garden in front of my house where I occasionally spend my leisure period. Actually I work in my garden in the morning and evening. As it is a good source of vegetables, my parents also take care of the garden. I take care of the sucking plants with great care, make the soil loose with a spade and weed out grasses for better production. In my kitchen garden I usually cultivate data, brinjel, cucumber, ladies finger, chilly, potatoes, bean etc. Truly speaking my kitchen garden is useful in all respects because it benefits us in many ways. Sometimes it helps my family by providing money from selling vegetables. For this reason all the members of my family take care of it. It relives me from the monotony of the routine works and as such I am very much fond of it.

A Journey by Train I Enjoyed Recently

Man can make journeys by various vehicles. But train journey offers the best comfort. I had an opportunity to make much a journey by train. It was 20 March, 2008. I made a joyful train journey with some of my best friends. In the very morning I along with those friends, getting up from bed, gathered at Chittagong Railway station. I along with my friends got in the train named ‘Mohanagar Pravati’ by name. Our motive was to visit Dhaka, the capital city. For this purpose our train journey as made. I sat by the window and enjoyed different kinds of excellent and attractive natural sights. I saw many people working in the field, women bathing, woods, green fields etc. through the window. I was moved by the scenery. At last we reached the Kamalapur Railway station at 1.00 pm. In reality, it was a happy journey to me and my friends I enjoyed it very much for all the amenities I had during my journey by train.

Satellite TV Channels

Satellite TV channels are those channels that telecast television programmes to the different parts of the world via satellite. Satellite telecasting has added new dimensions to television. Nowadays a huge number of satellite channels telecast wide range of programmes of varied interest. The programmes of all the channels are not beneficial. Some channels like Discovery, National Geographic and CNN. BBC telecast highly informative programmes and can enrich our mind with sage and sagacity.  On the other hand, some channels like TV-6, MTV, HBO, AXN, etc. cause cultural decay and moral degradation because they are full of nudism and vulgarism. Our national culture can be fostered and enriched by avoiding those channels and programmes and having to keep the good and giving up the bad. Our own culture programmes and elements should be seen and enjoyed frequently. It is true that the programmes of some satellite TV are destructive. Those programmes which are harmful should be avoided. That’s to say, constructive programmes of satellite TV channels should be enjoyed. We also have to find out how to derive the best benefit from satellite TV channels keeping its evil up to the minimum limit. Otherwise, moral degradation will take place and social stability will be destroyed.

My Living Place

The place I live is in Ashulia, a suburb of the mega city Dhaka. It is under Tongi thana in the district of Gazipur. I’ve been living here since my father’s being settled here in 1992. the environment of locality is excellent for a healthful living. The surrounding is calm and quiet with eye-soothing greenish foliage. The cluster of nature here will charm one to all. We enjoy all the urban facilities here in the absence of vehicle horn and fume, dustbin, harsh sound of unfit vehicles, traffic jam and frequent load shedding. Medicine facility, water supply, quality education etc. are available in this suburb. The remarkable feature of our locality is the inhaling fresh air, and taking fresh food. The special attraction of our locality is the luxurious apartments with modern amenities in the rustic atmosphere. Newly established settlements are well planed. People can traffic easily from one lace to another. I’m very happy to live in such a ideal locality.

A Beggar

A beggar is a person who earns his live hood by begging. Sometimes beggars go from person to person for alms or beg from door to door. Begging is their sole business on which they and their entire family depend. But it is not a profession. Rather it is a serious social sore which creeps into the society and eats up the entire body of the society. It is a social problem because it does not give anything to the society. It is an unproductive activity. It corrodes self-dignity and self respect of the beggars. In the beggar it creates a kind of disrespect to labor. They develop a sense of effacement and laziness. There are multifarious reasons behind this problem. Firstly, Bangladesh is a poor country where 60% people live below the poverty line. Besides. Income-discrepancy is very wide here. Secondly, physical handicap as blindness, deafness, dumbness, lameness, etc. are the causes that compel the poor to beg for their living. Thirdly, unemployment problem is widely here. As a result large portion of unemployed choose begging as their profession. Fourthly, Bangladesh is a land of natural disaster. It occurs frequently in our country which leaves thousands of people rootless, helpless and workless. It eventually forces them to adopt begging as their profession. In our country the effects of begging are (a) the country gets deprived of manpower, (b) the beggars many times get involved in anti-social activities, (c) unemployment rate is increasing rapidly, etc. However, it is very urgent to remove this problem from oue country. To alleviate it, first of all, we have to create enough employment opportunities. Secondly, we have to rehabilitate them. The inactive persons should be provided with old-age pension, etc. Thus we can get rid of this problem.

Natural Calamities In Bangladesh

Bangladesh is such a country that is affected by various natural calamities almost every year. It seems that these natural calamities are daily companions of Bangladesh. For this reason Bangladesh is called the land of natural calamities. Floods, cyclones, drought, erosion, excessive rains are the common natural calamities in our country. Among the calamities flood is the most common here. Generally flood occurs in the month of ‘Ashar’ and ‘Srabon’. It is mainly caused by heavy shower of rains. The impact of flood causes a big loss of lives and properties. Crops, streets, roads and even hoses go under water. As a result, affected people suffer in many ways. They become homeless and take shelter on house roofs, trees, boats and embankments. Their miseries continue even after the flood ends. After flood, famine and epidemic break out and take away a lot of lives. Last year terrible cyclone called SIDR hit our southern part and attended with tidal bore. It blew down lot of houses and properties.

Book Fair

A fair is the display of different items of necessary things for the consumers and buyers. To get recognition of products widely or to make the products popular a fair is held. Therefore, a book fair does the same purpose as it looks for the reader’s interest. A book fair is very much popular with the readers, men of letters and the authors. The largest book fair in our country is the book fair held in February to observe the Language Movement Day in the Bangla Academy premises. A book fair promotes the publication of books to spread education and widen the sphere of our knowledge. It increases the reader’s interest on reading books. Bangla Academy sponsors the fair and different publications make stalls to advertise their perspective books. Story books, novels, books on various dramas, books on poems, autobiographical books, books on science and technology, books on raising social awareness, etc. are usually available in a book fair. Recently I have visited a book fair and gathered a lot of experiences. Some writers are also seen sitting in the stalls and their fans gather there for autographs. However, by patronizing such kinds of fair, maintaining the discipline and minimizing the cost of books, I think, such kind of fair can be made successful.

Load Shedding

Load shedding refers to the temporary stop of electricity supply in some areas if demand is greater than supply. It also occurs due to the system loss and unplanned distribution of electricity. It’s become a great curse where people have got used to an electric oriented life. Students cannot study well due to the load shedding. If load shedding occurs during examination, students have to suffer a lot; they cannot prepare well for the ensuing examination. Due to load shedding big cities, densely populated areas and especially industrial areas suffer most. The production of mills and factories is hindered too for load shedding. The regular supply of industrial production is stopped and they have to face financial loss owing to load shedding. We can produce much more electricity to stop load shedding. Besides by stopping system loss and unplanned distribution of electricity we may be relieved from load shedding. The government and all concerned must unite their hands to liberate the people from the curse of load shedding as soon as possible.

A Moon-lit Night

When the moon beams at night, it is called a moon lit night. It looks very beautiful. The nature looks charming then. The birds and beasts also enjoy such a night. Man comes out of homes and enjoys the moon lit night, especially the cloudless night. People rush on the roads and open square and enjoy the beauties of nature. Some play pipes and some other sings songs. The children and women also come out of the house to enjoy the moon lit night. They stand and become excited and amazed to watch the beauty of nature. The poets write poems about the moon lit night. They describe it with their imagination. Even common people try poems in such situation. A moon lit night reminds us of the renowned song of the Rabindranath Tagore “Chander Hashi Bandth Bhengeche”. I have a memory of experiencing a moon lit night at our village when I went during summer vacation. However, a moon lit night is of splendid and exquisite beauty.

A Frightening Experience

A frightening experience is a common phenomenon in one’s life. Once I was also faced such a frightening situation when I was ten years old. I went to visit the residence of one of my friends living in Chittagong where I faced a terrible event. My friend having my proximity was very eager and pleased. When it was night, my friend was seen walk to his sister secretly. They seemed to plan something. But I could not understand properly. I avoided them and went to bed as I yawned several times. When I touched one of the pillows, I saw a snake on the bed. I fell on the floor and lost my sense. Getting my sense after few minutes I saw everyone beside me. Then my friend told me it was not real snake. It was made of plastic. Hearing this, I began to laugh and tried to touch the snake. I was not afraid any more. This was a memorable frightening incident that happened in my life. I still remember it. Whenever I remember it, I feel amused and laugh sub consciously.
